Our neighbourhood tours are currently only available as private tours. Please send us a request. Due to the lack of guests, we have to reduce our service.

We still offer our Classic Cologne free walking tours at 12:11 pm on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays at Eigelstein-Torburg in English and German. Please register in advance for the tour.

Our neighbourhood tours through Cologne

Although our Cathedral is the heart of the city, it is in the neighbourhoods (or as we call them: Veedel), where you can find the real Cologne feeling. Join our tours and find the authentic treasures of Köln. Get your city sightseeing away from the touristy areas.

In order to keep everyone healthy and to anticipate the upcoming government regulations, we introduced the following measures during COVID-19:

  1. The groups will be kept small (max. 12 PAX).
  2. Guests should bring their own mouth-nose masks. To what extent you will have to wear them, will be decided depending on the location and group size.
  3. We ask for the contact information of the guests before the tour, so that we can inform you of a possible infection during the tour.

This data will only be used in case of an infection in the group and, if necessary, will be sent to the Health Department. Once the infection period has expired, the data will be deleted.

Our Cologne district tours

Südstadt Walking Tour

It is maybe the most typical Cologne district: Südstadt (“South City”) attracts with rustic pubs, trendy nightclubs and beautiful apartments. In summers, you feel like in Italy and in winters you can find refuge in one of the cosy cafés. On our tour, we will visit squares, that are no squares, and explore how this district is connected to John Lennon.

Ehrenfeld Walking Tour

From working-class district to the most popular neighbourhood for students: hip, hipper, Ehrenfeld. The tour starts at the impressive DITIB Central Mosque. From there we’ll discover the colourful small shops, look back into the past when the district still used to be an independent city and enjoy today's Ehrenfeld with its street art, food places and bars.

Nippes Walking Tour

On our Nippes tour, you’ll learn about the history of illegal brewing culture in the district while you enjoy a completely legal kiosk beer. Discover the beautiful parks, the famous pubs and historic restaurants. Relax with locals in Schill Square, learn about the illegal brewing culture, and get to know one of the proudest and greenest neighborhoods in Cologne.

Belgian Quarter Walking Tour

The Belgian Quarter is one of the most popular districts in Cologne. Old and young, Cologne tradition and international flair are combined with trendy pubs, clubs, concept stores, art, or just the kiosk at the corner. On our tour from the roman “Via Belgica” to the “green belt” you’ll experience the multi-faceted district and its history.

Agnesviertel Walking Tour

The Agnesviertel arose around the second biggest church in Cologne: the beautiful St. Agnes. Named after a woman who was deeply loved by her husband, we’ll walk through the neighbourhood whose beauty matches the name of its romantic roots. You’ll also learn something about the history of our favorite primate, “Petermann” and its connection to the Cologne Zoo.

Price & Languages

Tickets cost 12€ per person and are available until two hours before the tour starts. Currently, we offer all of them in German and the Ehrenfeld tour in English – please send us a request for other languages and we will see what we can do.

Five neighbourhoods

…with very different stories. Dive deep into Cologne’s local life and explore the districts on our walking tours: Ehrenfeld, Belgisches Viertel, Südstadt, Nippes and Agnesviertel. All district tours can also be booked as a private tour throughout the year. Find some impressions of our neighbourhood tours on Instagram or share your own! #veedeltour

City sightseeing

– away from the city centre. We love our cathedral but Cologne life happens in our neighbourhoods which have gone through many changes throughout the years. Meet the local kiosk owner, spot historical sights in the streets and understand what’s on the neighbours’ minds today. This is our way of city sightseeing.
