Are you ready to experience Cologne the way locals know it?
Our Classic Free Walking Tour is a 2.5-hour walk from the Eigelstein through Cologne’s Old Town with a local guide. Of course, you’ll see the city’s most famous landmarks, from Cologne Cathedral to hidden Roman ruins. But you’ll also hear the stories, legends and local humour that make Cologne so special to the people who love it. Every one of our guides tells their own Cologne story, so no two tours are ever the same.
Along the way, you’ll see:
- Eigelstein-Torburg, the northern medieval city gate where our tour begins
- Cologne Cathedral, our city’s heart, explored beyond the tourist trails
- Hidden Roman ruins from 2,000-year-old Colonia
- St. Ursula, the patron saint on the Cologne coat of arms
- The Town Hall, Germany’s oldest Rathaus (according to the proud Kölner, at least)
- Tünnes & Schäl, the two hearts beating in every Kölner’s chest
…and plenty more. Who knows, you might even end up by the Rhine with your guide, your new-found friends and a cold Kölsch. Come learn to love our city the way true Kölner do!
