I love Cologne because of its open-minded people and beautiful summers.
My name is Pia and wherever I travel to, I join a free walking tour. I believe there is no better way seeing a city than through the eyes of a local. Like this I have seen New York, Santiago de Chile, Delhi, Budapest, Krakow and many more cities around the globe. And I always felt that those free walking tour guides were having a good time. So why not become a guide in a city you love? Why not become a tour guide in Cologne? No sooner said than done.
Raised in a small German village (400 inhabitants, no supermarkets) the only thing I wanted after school was to live in a big city. Without knowing Cologne I moved here in 2011 to study history and philosophy. Back then I thought: “For my Masters I will go to Berlin.” Oh dear, I was so wrong. And so lucky! I fell in love with Cologne. Not only because there are kiosks at every corner. 😉 But because of the people, the history, the summers and the engagement for social and political topics.
Most travelers just stop by on their way to Amsterdam and often end up staying for longer. If you want to find out why, I hope to see you on my tour soon!
